7 things about me

I have been tagged by Ingrid and have to tell 7 things about me.

Hmmmm I never know what to write for things like this, which is why I don't normally do it.

1. I am lazy. I love my sleep and given the chance am sure I would sleep in until 1pm every day. Doesn't help that Jackson is waking many times a night still. I never feel rested when I wake up. Chris is wonderful and lets me sleep in on Saturdays and Sundays as long as I let him have a sleep in every now and then.

2. Sometimes I look at my 3 kids and wonder how on earth I ended up with THREE kids! At times it just seems unreal. I love them dearly, but 3 still sounds like a lot to me. I always imagined myself with 3 kids before my 30th birthday so I have succeeded.

3. Some people might know this, my closest friends anyway. I have problems with my thyroid atm. I don't think I have written about it on my blog before? I was very sick after Jackson was born, and it was only diagnosed last December, 16 months later. Last year I suffered depression, which can be a symptom of thyroid problems, and really struggled to cope, with anything. I was horrible to everyone, especially my mum and husband. Amazing I have my friends still, I think. I think I am on top of it now, and don't let myself get as tired, and don't push myself too much. My house was a tip last year because I just didn't do anything, Chris would come home, cook, wash the dishes and wash the kids, put them to bed. He really is a gem and I love him very much.

4. I miss my grandmother every single day. My Nana died in 2003 from Cancer. We were very close and I was with her when she was told she had terminal cancer. I feel guilt that in her last week I only saw her once because Lucy had her tonsils and adenoids out then. I have a lot of bad feelings as how a lot of "family" acted just before and after her death. Nana and I had a very close relationship. She told me shortly before she died that she loved me for everything I had done for her and that I was her best friend as well as her granddaughter.

5. When I was 17 I ran away from home.I was gone for about a week, went home and I left again, for about 2 months. I went home on Christmas Eve. I still regret what I did to my poor mum, she was so worried. She always knew where I was and would ring friends parents that I was staying with to check up on me. I never went back to school after that and started my hairdressing apprenticeship soon after, then not long after that Chris and I started going out :) so my life did a big turnaround.

6. I am very slack at keeping in touch with people, I get emails and forget about them, forget to return phone calls. Bad friend...

7. I am planning on returning to study very soon. I want to start by doing the training to become a breastfeeding counsellor. I have been wanting to do this for some time now, then in the next year or so I would like to start part-time uni to study Primary school teaching. I loved working with the kids s an STA, and had a lot of positive reports and was told by many school principals that I should do my teaching, so I think I am going to. It will be hard after all this time, but I think I can do it.

I'm not sure who to tag in return that han't done this, but I know Ang hasn't as yet, so I tag you :P

some photos

Jackson and textas...this was probably the 3rd time this week, this kid eats absolutely anything, it is quite disgusting. I had to collect the texta nib from his mouth before he swallowed it, ick.

Chris and the kids. I took LOTS of photos and this was the best I got!

The beginnings of the deck (the decking boards are all down now, so I will have to get another pic over the weekend

Sam at the beach, he couldn't go in the water much, the water and the sand really hurt his eczema on his legs.
Jackson flat out at Malua
My beautiful little man, who has just turned 19 months!

A must read blog.

Confessions of a CFHusband

I have spent about 7 hours reading this blog the last couple of days. I have had tears an laughed with them. The story is about the mans wife who has cystic fibrosis and was on the lung transplant list when they found out they were pregnant. The baby was born nearly 16 weeks early and is in NICU, the wife has JUST finished having a lung transplant. Tricia, Nate and Gwyneth are an inspiration

PLEASE go and read it.

Every now and then I read or hear of something that makes me realise just how lucky I am to be here with my kids, able to cuddle and kiss, bath and feed them. I have been giving them extra big hugs since starting to read this.

It's been a while

I haven't had too much to blog about just recently. But I am getting back into my knitting so I will have more photos coming soon.

Kids are all going swimmingly.

Lucy is doing really well at school, she is loving her new teacher, it is her first male teacher. She has a lot of fun with him. It was her birthday at the beginning of March and I didn't post photos, so they will be coming very soon. She wants me to cut her hair and she wants her ears pierced, a sure sign she is growing up. I talked to her last night about how they pierce your ears and she may be a bit put off.

Sam is gorgeous as always. He is still as shy as ever, but is actually starting to look at people and not hide behind my legs the whole time. He says hello to kids he knows at the school, and has 3 little friends out of school, Conor, Lara and Brooke. Still loves trains and has started a feather collection, Grandma gave him a tin to keep them in and we go searching every now and then. On the walk home from school the other day he had 6 other kids looking for them for him as well.

Jackson is the biggest charactor out of the 3 of them. He knows how to make us laugh. He walks around pulling crazy faces, saying knock knock, when we say who's there he just cracks up, he is starting to talk and will say most things I ask him too, and he even learnt chocolate over easter :)
He adores shoes, wants them on as soon as he is dressed and will hand everyone else their shoes too.

We went to the coast a few weeks back with some friends of our with 2 kids, we had the best time. The kids all got along fabulously as did theadults. We played games at night, and wen to the park and beach during the day. I actually learnt to boogie board, anyone who knows me will know how hug this is with my massive fear of water. even had fun doing it.

I was trying to add some photos but blogger isn't letting me, so maybe later!

Rock a bye baby ;)

Here is Jackson last night (in his funky new Bonds PJs) he decided he would sleep next to Lucy's bed in her dolls cradle. He tossed Baby Born and jumped in himself and lay down. Maybe I should have left him there, he may have slept better then he has been recently. That cradle was one that my grandmother made for me when I was younger then Lucy.

Sam the builder, can he fix it??

Yes he can

My wonderful DH is building a deck for us at the moment. It is going to be enclosed with flyscreen so that we can use it as a playroom/sunroom, giving us a little more stepping room in our small house with 3 growing children, lol.

Here is one of his little helpers.

plaits, plaits, plaits.

This is what Lucy and I did on Sunday afternoon while Chris was at band and the boys were sleeping. She will probably wear the plaits until Thursday, maybe Friday depending how messy they are by then. Good way to save time in the morning and avoid nits all at the same time lol. There are 20 plaits there and took me about 25 minutes.

Ooooh a bag :)

I was part of a swap on a private forum and this is what I made for the special mum. I had also appliqued a cute red t-shirt with an equally cute rooster on it but after stuffing it up for the third time I gave up, finished it with mistakes and it has gone into Sam's pjs drawer. I bought a Kapow t-shirt for him instead. I really enjoyed knitting this bag, and will definitely make myself one.

Pay it Forward

I can't believe how long it has been since I have updated in here. We have been having a very lazy, relaxing holiday. Lucy and Chris have both been off since the 21st December. Chris went to work yesterday, he has started a new job, much less stress, less hours, and more money! Yay! Lucy goes ack to school on Tuesday then life will be back to normal :)

I will come back to update, Christmas, holidays, birthdays have all happened.

I have joined in the fun, I am involved in a Pay it Forward with Kris from Monster Knits, so now it is my turn.

Our lot

This is what we got in the swap, we were totally and utterly spoilt :)
Jackson got a gorgeous Wriggley Bumz nappy, it is very soft and pattable.

Sam got a Thomas book, which of course he adores.

I got this gorgeous breastfeeding necklace, which is wonderful because Jackson has just started to poke up my nose, in my mouth, in my eyes as we sit and feed.

Lucy got this colourful apron, it is perfect for her as she loves cooking. She got too cookie cutters too.

Thank you so much Carla, you went to so much effort and we all really appreciate it.

NC swap

This is what I made to send out.
The 2 year old boy got shorties, the mum requested an elastic waistband, and I have only done a few, because my joining technique was pretty dodgy, but I think I nailed it in these ones.
His 2 big sisters got a purse each, I have also made Lucy one, but still need to put the snap on the inside. I was going to use the snap press, but I thought that it may make a hole in the knitting, so I had to sew the metal ones on.
The mum got this dishcloth, it is Santa and Mrs Claus. I was extremely proud of this, it is the first pattern I have knitted, as opposed to straight knitting. I am going to make another one for my Nanny for Christmas.

Sam's "Super Sam Shorts" finished

I actually finished these a while ago, and they have been getting a good work out already. Sam's new night time shorties, which he loves. I did 1x1 ribbing and quite a bit more height to the ribbing then I have been doing to try to eliminate the need for a drawstring, they work, but they have stretched out a little, so I imagine I will end up getting mum to crochet a drawstring for me anyway.

Sammy's shorts

He is so excited about these. I had to frog them a couple of times as it just wasn't going to be big enough. They will be for over a night nappy. I m loving the colours, just Cleckheaton country prints, cheap as chips. I have done about double this, I took the photo yesterday morning, just about to split for legs.

I have named them Super Sam Shorties

Aren't the photos just gorgeous!!

Congratulations Natalie for your photo being published and yay for Jackson, who will be famous....for at least a month!!

Liam in his soaker

Isn't this little guy just absolutely adorable. This is my friends new baby, he is 2 weeks old tomorrow and he is wearing his new soaker that I knitted for him.
